Anjelica Huston added Hollywood glamour to a London fundraising event on Tuesday. The Oscar-winning actress was joined by royalty at the glittering black-tie event in Richmond in aid of saving Asian elephants.

Wearing a figure-hugging monochrome gown and groomed to perfection, the striking beauty displayed her envy-inducing ability to hold back the years. The LA-based star was making a rare appearance in the UK where, along with Ireland, she spent much of her childhood.

The lavish event at Petersham House also attracted a host of royal guests including Prince Charles and Camilla, whose brother Mark Shand is a trustee of Elephant Family, the charity hosting the evening. They arrived at the Thames-side location to be greeted by three life-size elephants made of turf. The fauna and flora-loving Prince couldn't resist giving one of the grassy trunks a stroke as he and his wife, dressed in a stunning blue beaded coat, posed for photographs.

Lady Gabriella Windsor and the Duchess' children Tom Parker Bowles and Laura helped make it a family outing. One of the highlights of the evening was a charity auction where one of the more unusual items to go under the hammer was a tractor-load of elephant dung. Guests, who also included Jemima Khan and Brit actors Stephen Fry and Richard E Grant, later tucked into a sumptuous Indian banquet.

Elephant Family, which was founded in 2002, raises funds to save wild Asian elephants in Indonesia, India and Thailand whose numbers have plummeted to just 35,000.
