It seems there's more to versatile Wild Hogs actress Jill Hennessy than a highly-successful career on TV and the silver screen. The 38-year-old Edmonton-born actress, who made a glamorous appearance at the LA premiere of Mark Wahlberg's latest flick Shooter on Thursday night, is launching a singing career.

Having lensed the sixth and final series of Crossing Jordan, in which she plays the title character, the former NYC subway busker has swapped the TV set for the music studio. She is currently working on her as-yet-untitled debut album, for which she penned all the music and lyrics. Taking her inspiration from Tracy Chapman, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen, Jill says her music has a "sort of an alternative folk kind of feel, with little shades of country every once in a while".

Jill explains that the end of Crossing Jordan heralded a time to try something new, and not be daunted by new challenges. "I could spend my whole life in fear if I wanted to," she said in a recent interview. "There's a quote, 'Who are you not to be brilliant?'. That's actually our greatest fear. People think our greatest fear is failure, and in actual fact it is the fear of shining too brightly - as we all possibly can."
