Rachel Hunter – the ex wife of rocker Rod Stewart - has been left reeling by her fiancé's decision to call off their wedding, less than two months before the pair were due to walk down the aisle.
New Zealander Rachel, 39, and Canadian hockey player Jarret Stoll, were meant to be tying the knot in a lavish ceremony on August 14. But it seems the 27-year-old has had a change of heart and has emailed guests telling them the wedding is off, the Sun reports.
Said to be heartbroken by Jarret's decision – he has failed to give her a reason behind the cancellation – Rachel has been comforted by her former husband Rod, 64, who is now happily married to Penny Lancaster.
"She is absolutely devastated," a source told the British paper. "Everything was in place for their wedding – she had the venue, the designer dress, the guest list."
"Rod has been amazing through all of this – a real support."
A spokesperson for the blonde beauty has confirmed the August nuptials, the guest list for which was believed to include Michelle Pfeiffer and Sharon Stone, is off. Her two children Renee, 17, and 14-year-old Liam, had a good relationship with the LA Kings player and are said to upset by the news.
The couple, who announced their engagement in August, bought a £2.2 million house in LA's Hermosa Beach together last year and had said they hoped to have a child together following the wedding.
