David Walliams and model Lara Stone have tied the knot in a traditional and lavish ceremony in London attended by many of their famous friends. Its official:
Pictured together on Sunday shortly after becoming husband and wife, the newlyweds couldn’t have looked happier as they left their wedding venue at Claridges Hotel to carry on the celebrations at Shoreditch House.
The bride, 26, looked beautiful in a glittering gold number having slipped out of her bridal gown – a £30-000 fitted cream dress created by Ricardo Tisci of Givenchy.
She reportedly wept as she and her comedian love – dressed in a grey morning suit - exchanged vows in the ballroom of the five star hotel, which was filled with £10,000 white roses. Onlookers said that "for once David looked incredibly nervous" ahead of the ceremony.
The groom's Little Britain co-star Matt Lucas and BBC producer Robin Dashwood acted as best men on the day, the former transforming into his alter-ego Marjorie Dawes as he wheeled in the wedding cake to much laughter from invitees.
Guests at the event included Geri Halliwell, Elton John and David Furnish, Natalie Imbruglia and Noel Gallagher, who all tucked into lobster salad and seared sea bass at the reception.
Brand new mum Denise Van Outen, Tess Daly and Vernon Kay and expectant Sam Taylor-Wood and fiancé Aaron Johnson were also at the party, which began with a DJ set from Radio 1's Fearne Cotton.
Guest Ronnie Corbett described the day as one of "loveliness and glamour from a day gone by."
"I've never been to a more beautiful service in my whole life, it was perfect from beginning to end," he said.
And the father of the bride, Michael Stone, was equally as delighted with proceedings. "Lara looked beautiful and it was a wonderful day," said the proud dad.
"There were so many lovely moments and I can tell you both Lara and David are over the moon."
The couple, who announced their engagement in January after a whirlwind romance, are said to be honeymooning in Paris.
