Speaking in a recent interview, Amanda Seyfried admitted she didn't know whether her actor boyfriend Dominic Cooper was "the one".
And it seems she might have been right, with the news that the couple have decided to end their relationship.
Although some reports suggest the split might not be permanent, it has been confirmed that the 24-year-old actress and her British Mamma Mia! Co-star have decided to take a break.
"They have been on and off for a long time," a source told an American publication. "Right now they are taking some space from each other."
"But they're great friends and could still get back together."
Amanda, who is currently promoting her new movie Letters to Juliet, began dating 31-year-old Dominic three years ago after meeting him on the set of the smash musical film.
Meanwhile, as one Hollywood romance ends, it seems another is beginning.
The question on the lips of everyone at Cannes is whether or not Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling have found love off-screen.
The pair are at the famous film festival with their joint venture Blue Valentine, in which they play a couple trying to stop their marriage falling apart.
And their affection towards each other has led to speculation they are a real-life couple.
The Notebook's Ryan, 29, was seen clasping Michelle's hand on the red carpet and they remained hand in hand as they made their way into the premiere.
He was equally attentive at the after party where he was seen with his arm around the actress' shoulder.
While the Canadian star's rep has said Ryan "is cosy with everyone", a source close to the film's producers believes romance is in the air.
"You know actors who meet on movie sets," he told People magazine. "It can be the most romantic place in the world."
Michelle dated, and had a daughter with, Heath Ledger and was most recently in a relationship with director Spike Jonze, while Ryan was with Rachel McAdams from mid 2005 until the beginning of 2007.
