Exes Harry Styles and Taylor Swift battle for Favourite Song

Former sweethearts Harry Styles and Taylor Swift will go head to head in the race for Favourite Song at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards next month. Harry’s band, One Direction, and the country starlet have both been nominated and will no doubt come face-to-face at the LA awards ceremony. Harry and band mates Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson are nominated for their smash-hit single What Makes You Beautiful, competing against Taylor's We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together. Harry’s band are also contending for Favourite Musical Group.

They all face stiff competition in the Favourite Song category from viral sensation Gangnam Style by Korean star PSY and Carly Rae Jepsen's catchy Call Me Maybe. Harry, 19, said: "We are delighted with our nominations for the Kids' Choice Awards. It was amazing to perform What Makes You Beautiful at last year's show. Thank you as always to our incredible fans and supporters!" Last year, One Direction scooped the Favourite UK Band and Favourite UK Newcomer awards while Taylor, 23, missed out on Favourite Song and Favourite Female Singer, so no doubt rivalry will be running high between the two exes for the prestigious Favourite Song category. Full nominations were announced on Wednesday and voting is due to being on Thursday.

It won’t be the first time the former flames have crossed paths since their split. They both attended the NRJ Music Awards on January in Cannes and played it cool on the red carpet showing maturity beyond their years, rising above any awkwardness. The young couple began a brief romance at the end of 2012 but went their separate ways after a row during a Caribbean holiday. Their break to the British Virgin Islands should have been a chance to get to know each other better, but things didn't work out and Taylor fled home early after three days with her beau. Newly-single Taylor recently revealed how she will be spending Valentine's Day, "I'm probably going to be with my friends or rehearsing…I'll be like working on the lighting rig and like, the lighting cues, " she said. "And I don't think I'd rather be anywhere else to be honest."
