Monica Cruz has stepped back into the spotlight for the first time since becoming a mum. Three weeks after she welcomed her baby girl, the Spanish beauty made her first public appearance in Madrid, where she spoke of her joy at becoming a parent.
Striking in a turquoise maxi dress and blazer, Monica, 36, told Spanish website Iainformacion.com, "I'm so happy. It's the best thing that has happened to me."
She also spoke of her delight at being pregnant at the same time as her older sister Penelope Cruz, who is due to give birth to her second child with husband Javier Bardem any time now.

"It was magical Penelope and I can share this time," she said. "She has given me a lot of advice."
Model Monica is yet to reveal the name of her little girl, who she welcomed into the world on 14th May.
In January, when revealing her pregnancy, Monica made the decision to also announce that she had turned to an anonymous donor to fulfill her dreams of starting a family.
Writing on her web-based blog for Spanish newspaper El Pais, she said she feared that if she waited to meet her perfect partner it would be "too late for motherhood".
Instead the beautiful brunette sought help through artificial insemination, and said she had decided to speak publically about that decision to avoid inevitable questions about the identity of the baby's father.
Monica revealed that she "isolated" herself in the first few months of her pregnancy to "avoid, above all, that they spoke about possible fathers, or the possible candidates (for the father)". She added that she felt "uneasy" hiding how the baby was conceived, believing that would help make the subject taboo.
"So I have decided to tell all," she wrote. "To become pregnant, I turned to artificial insemination.
"I want to tell also so I can have the opportunity to show my thanks to all those anonymous men who give so many women, like me, the dream of their lives."
