The new mum, who has kept a low profile since giving birth to baby daughter North West on 15 June, is aware that her post-baby debut is hotly-anticipated and doesn't wish to steal the spotlight from her little sister's big day.
"Believe it or not, it's not all about Kim," a source told the New York Daily News. "She really wants to go to Kylie's party, and when it comes to the family, Kris wants everyone there. Kim is just working with Kris to figure out the best plan of action."
The reality TV star, boyfriend Kanye West and their little girl have been staying with Kim's mum Kris's Los Angeles home while their own abode is being renovated.
Kylie's 16th birthday falls on 10 August and her birthday bash is expected to take place a week later on 17th at Los Angeles' AT&T Centre. One hundred guests have reportedly been invited.
Kim, 32, may well choose her mum's daytime talk show Kris to make her first public appearance, which was recently launched and is currently on a six-week test run.
The matriarch of the the Kardashian clan, Kris, 57, has expressed interest in having Kim and her baby, North West, appear on her show.
In the launch episode, she even brought a baby out on stage, leading the audience to believe it was her granddaughter when it was in fact the baby of a member of the backstage crew.
It is thought that Kris will have to wait a while longer before baby North makes it onto her show, as Kim will not choose that setting to introduce her daughter to the world, according to the Daily News.
Kim, who has been uncharacteristically quiet since giving birth, spoke out for the first time about motherhood in a touching post on her Celebuzz blog.
"These past couple of weeks have been filled with the most exciting experiences of my life," she wrote. "I'm enjoying this time to fully embrace motherhood and spend time at home with my family... I am so blessed to have the support of my family and fans in this beautiful moment."
