Katie Holmes has opened up about making her return to Hollywood, and leaving her past in the past.
The former Dawson's Creek star – whose fame increased with her high-profile marriage and divorce from Tom Cruise – was asked whether she would consider going back to her old life.
"I never really look back," Katie said on The Today Show. "I just approach life one day at a time."

The mother of eight-year-old daughter Suri added that she was looking forward to the release of her two new films, The Giver and Miss Meadows.
"I'm really excited about where I am right now, this movie," said Katie. "I've had some really wonderful creative experiences. I am just excited about the future."
The Ohio-born actress, who plays a mother in The Giver, spoke about her own relationship with her fashionable mini-me, and how she has tried to raise Suri as normally as possible.

"I think, of course, you try your best," said Katie. "I try very hard because I am very grateful for my upbringing and my parents and siblings. I try to do what they did for me for my little one.
"The most important thing for me is letting her know how proud I am and that her accomplishments mean everything. It's really just about her and that's what I think is most important."

Katie's most recent red-carpet appearance was attending the "Life is Amazing" Lexus Short Films Series in New York City, where she lives with her daughter.
The brunette beauty looked glam in an all-black outfit of straight trousers and an off-the-shoulder, ruffled top. Katie added a pop of colour with red and silver stilettos and wore a chic up-do for the evening affair.

Since her 2012 divorce from Tom, Katie has been romantically linked to some of Hollywood's leading men including Jason Segal and Jamie Foxx.
Her representative stated that there was no truth to the reports, and Katie has always emphasised that her daughter is her top priority.
"The number one thing is making sure my child feels loved," she has previously told Elle UK. "And good about herself. And that what she does and who she is, is special and important, and should be celebrated. My mom always said, 'No one loves you like your mother.'"
