Alexander McQueen, Giambattista Valli, Margaret Howell, DSquared, Alexander Wang and Miu Miu all used braids in their shows.
Our favourites were at Valli, with superstar session stylist Orlando Pita going for loose French pleats and at Miu Miu where Rapunzel-long braids draped over one shoulder - simulataneously working the asymmetric look, too.
Fearne wore a false braid which beautifully mixed two colours of hair – you can buy clip-on pony tails or hair extensions at most department stores or at Topshop – wound into her own hair at the back.
Her natural hair was roller set first to give it root lift and soft movement and dressed to the side to make sure the plait was in full view.
Sections of hair should be teased out all over – including in the braid itself – to make this the casual-looking, 'city girl gone to the country' style that the catwalks loved so much.
