It was a moving moment, as proud parents Prince Frederik and Princess Mary of Denmark christened their baby twins.
In line with tradition, their names had been kept under wrapped until the ceremony.
But the three-month-old twins are now known to the world as Prince Vincent Frederik Minik Alexander and Josephine Sophia Ivalo Mathilda.
The select gathering who were present to witness the happy moment consisted of close friends and family, including Frederik's parents Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik, and his brother, Joachim.
The royal guest list was smaller than usual for this type of event as none of the major members from the royal houses of Sweden, Norway or the Netherlands were able to attend due to official engagements.
The twins were born on January 8, 2011.
