Peter Phillips enjoyed a day out with his wife Autumn and two daughters Savannah and Isla on Saturday, when the family went to watch Zara compete in the Barbury horse trials. The British royals, both 35, basked in the sunshine as they cheered for Peter's younger sister – who has revealed that she and husband Mike Tindall are expecting their first child in the new year – in the equestrian event on Sharpridge Farm near Swindon. The couple's little girls – already two of Zara's biggest fans on the competitive circuit – were clearly having a ball on the hottest day of the year, being held in their doting dad's arms and playing contently on the grass.

One-year-old Isla was pretty in pink in a GAP outfit, while her older sister Savannah, aged three, was dressed in a purple summer dress with matching Mary Jane shoes. The two wore matching white frilly summer hats to protect them from the strong rays.

The Queen's eldest great-granddaughter Savannah kept her parents busy, running around with bounds of energy and being swung high in the air by her mum Autumn and her friend.

Dressed casually for the summer's day out, Peter was relaxed in a pastel shirt and beige cargo shorts.

The royal equestrian then tackled show jumping and cross country on the second of the four day horse riding competition, finishing in fourth place of the Open Novice competition when riding CG Master Lux.

Zara, 32, who picked up a silver medal with the GB eventing team at London 2012, brought eight-year-old gelding Mr Murt to Barbury for the two star event for a showstopping dressage test on Friday.

His wife Autumn was cool in cropped skinny jeans and an oversized grey top with her hair tied back. A pair of shades completed the carefree look.
