Lauren made her first public appearance since the news of her pregnancy broke on Wednesday, when she was seen shopping near her New York home.
Photographs of the socialite's shopping trip came at the same time as she released an official statement about her recent pregnancy revelation, which mentioned her husband Andrew Silverman and their seven-year-old son.
"I am committed to sorting things out with Andrew as amicably as possible to ensure the well-being of our son," said Lauren. "I would hope for some space and privacy in order to work through this."
Andrew, who has been a friend of Simon's for many years, released a similar statement which cited his son's well-being as his main focus.
"My top priority is protecting my seven-year-old son while working to resolve all outstanding issues with my wife," read the statement. "Hopefully people can respect the interest of our child during this process."
Meanwhile father-to-be Simon was facing questions about the news of his impending paternity during an X Factor press conference.
The music mogul was calm and collected as he explained that the situation was too delicate for discussion at the moment.
"Unfortunately, I have to keep this private for the moment," the 53-year-old told reporters at the meeting in Beverly Hills. "It's just one of those things, but thank you anyway."
When asked if he could reveal how he is feeling, Simon replied, "I would love to, but I have to respect a lot of other people's feelings."
