Pippa Middleton, who is pregnant with her first child, has revealed her favourite workout regime in her Waitrose Weekend magazine column. She said: “Swimming throughout pregnancy offers a wonderful feeling of weightlessness. From personal experience, I’d confidently say I find it has been the most enjoyable and rewarding form of exercise since I found out I was expecting. It’s comforting to know that it’s safe throughout pregnancy and you don’t need to adapt and change too much (unlike most other sports).”

In the issue, Pippa shows off her baby bump in a gorgeous swimsuit from Sweaty Betty. The oxblood colour-block Free Dive suit is currently reduced in price (£56 down from £80) and available in sizes XS to L - the XL has gone. With chlorine resistant fabric offering UV protection of 50+, we predict this will sell out immediately now that Pippa has modelled it.

Explaining further her love for swimming, the 34-year-old sister of the Duchess of Cambridge says: “As the summer weather contributes to feelings of bloating and swelling, swimming will keep your body cooler while exercising, something that is a relief in pregnancy, preventing swelling in the arms and legs. But even in the cooler months, temporarily joining a local pool can be worth the investment. If this is the only exercise you do during pregnancy, you’re onto a good thing.”
