Far flung food with Stevie Parle

by hellomagazine.com Stevie Parle started cooking young at just 16 and since then has worked in three of the UK’s most famous and fashionable restaurants – the River Cafe, birthplace of Jamie Oliver’s cooking career, the decadent and beautiful Petersham Nurseries and the North African and Spanish hub that is Moro. His extensive travels around the globe from New York to Tokyo are all evidenced by the smorgasbord of recipes that pop up in his first book My Kitchen: Real Food from Near and Far.

The book is full of interesting, quirky anecdotes including stories from his Hammersmith houseboat and his recipes for various occasions with charming, inviting titles such as ‘A Ligurian supper for friends, who would prefer to be on holiday but have to work’ and ‘A foggy breakfast wrapped up on the deck”. Each chapter also includes a masterclass focused on a single ingredient that is both useful and informative.

Stevie now runs his own restaurant, The Moveable Kitchen, in London.
